The Dawning Institute holds a profound, personal significance for me, tied to my birth name, Dawn, in honor and memory of my late father, a gentle, kind soul whose gregarious laughter could light up any room. Although I changed my name in 2013, I chose to embrace "Dawn" in the institute’s name as a tribute to him, capturing the warmth, joy, and hope he brought into my life. The word "dawning" felt perfect, symbolizing renewal, a fresh start, and the vibrant spirit he encouraged me to embrace.
Every aspect of The Dawning Institute reflects my father’s presence: his laughter, filling spaces with joy, inspires the welcoming and uplifting environment we strive to create. His kindness and gentleness shape our approach, while his strength as a provider and protector reinforces our commitment to offering a safe, inclusive space for healing.
